Pedri Sends Playful Message to Ferran Torres Ahead of PSG vs Barcelona Champions League Clash

Pedri, a key midfielder for Barcelona, sent a cheeky message to his friend Ferran Torres as their teams prepare for a crucial Champions League match. The clash between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) promises to be intense, showcasing two top European sides known for their ball control and skill.

A Friendly Warning to Torres

The upcoming week is one of the most challenging so far for Barcelona under coach Hansi Flick, with important fixtures against both PSG and domestic rivals. The midweek Champions League game will reunite some familiar faces, including former Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and current PSG forward Ferran Torres. Pedri joked about hoping that Torres doesn’t find luck on the pitch during the match but wished him well for the rest of the season.

"I hope he doesn’t score or have any luck in this match. I wish him luck for the rest of the season. We have a great relationship and talk a lot when we’re with the national team," Pedri said.

Reflecting on Dembele’s Growth

Pedri also spoke about playing alongside Dembele at Barcelona. He admired the winger’s incredible skills during training, often witnessing jaw-dropping moves behind closed doors. Although Dembele showed flashes of brilliance, his early career was marked by inconsistency. Pedri believes Dembele has now transformed into a dependable world-class player.

"In training, I saw him do incredible things; he did well, but he was more inconsistent than now that he’s exploded onto the scene and is a world-class player," the 23-year-old said.

Facing the European Champions

Barcelona know they face a tough challenge against a PSG side that has been dominant in Europe recently. Under coach Luis Enrique, PSG has built a balanced and complete squad. Pedri highlighted their attacking quality and midfield control, recognizing their status as back-to-back Champions League winners.

"They have many qualities up front, they are game-changers and they know how to control the game in midfield. I’m not going to reinvent the wheel, they have won the last two Champions League," Pedri stated.

Keeping Perspective Ahead of the Match

Despite the significance of the fixture, Pedri urged calm, rejecting the idea that this match should be treated like a final. He stressed the importance of seeing it as a chance to measure their standing while keeping momentum alive.

"It’s a difficult match against a tough opponent, but it’s not a final. We want to win and maintain our good momentum. This is a match to see where we stand," he explained.
