Dillon Danis Withdraws from Duel Arena 1 as Mike Perry Faces Brandon Jenkins

The loudest voice in MMA is out of another fight.

Dillon Danis has withdrawn from his scheduled bout with Mike Perry at Duel Arena 1, set for Saturday at the Kia Center in Orlando. Perry broke the news himself on Thursday at his pre-fight press conference, revealing that Danis had gone silent in fight week.

According to Perry, there was “no communication” from Danis as the event drew closer. The promotion moved quickly. The ever-willing Perry will now face Brandon Jenkins, a former UFC fighter, in an MMA contest instead.

It is a familiar script with Danis. On paper, he owns a 3-0 record in MMA. In reality, his recent career has lived far more on social media than in the cage. He has built a reputation on relentless trash talk and high-profile feuds while coming up short in grappling, wrestling, and boxing outings.

His last two RAF appearances ended in defeat to Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington. In boxing, he was outclassed by Logan Paul in 2023. His most recent MMA appearance came back in August 2025, when he blew away newcomer Warren Spencer in just 15 seconds to claim the inaugural Misfits MMA light heavyweight title. That brief burst of violence now feels like an outlier in a long run of inactivity.

On Thursday, Danis tried to explain his latest withdrawal with an Instagram post, sharing a video of a gruesome arm injury and the caption: “S*** happens in the fight game. Beyond disappointed.” The image was ugly. The timing, yet again, brutal for a promotion trying to bank on his name.

Perry just keeps fighting.

Since leaving the UFC in 2021, he has reinvented himself as a bare-knuckle star, thriving in the chaos and blood of that rule set. This weekend marks only his second MMA bout since that departure. He rides in with momentum, having beaten Nate Diaz on the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano undercard at the MVP MMA event on Netflix in May, a result that only strengthened his standing as one of combat sports’ most durable attractions.

Jenkins now steps into a spotlight that was supposed to belong to Danis. The matchup changes, the narrative doesn’t: Perry shows up, gloves on, ready to swing.

For Danis, the question lingers, louder each time a fight falls apart. With another MMA opportunity gone, and another explanation posted instead of a walk to the cage, how many more chances will he get to prove he is more than just a voice in the void?
