Nations League Preview: Turkiye vs Italy - Lineups and TV Info

Alessandro Bastoni is back in the starting lineup for Italy, while Matteo Ruggeri is set to make his debut for the Azzurri. The game pits coach Roberto Mancini against his old Sampdoria teammate Vincenzo Montella. Kickoff is scheduled for 20:45 CET (19:45 BST) at the Atatürk Spor Kompleksi in Bursa.

Match Background

Both sides suffered defeats in their opening Nations League matches last Friday. Italy fell 2-0 at home to Belgium, and Turkiye was edged 1-0 by France on home turf. Mancini has left out ten players from the squad who started against Belgium, including key names like Nicolò Barella, Gianluca Mancini, and Diego Coppola.

Team News

Reports from Sky Sport indicate that Aston Villa's defender Matteo Ruggeri will start as left-back, marking his first cap for Italy. Bastoni returns after serving a suspension in the previous match. In midfield, Sandro Tonali and Davide Frattesi are expected to feature prominently, with Nicolò Fagioli competing with Issa Doumbia for the final midfield spot. Upfront, Francesco Pio Esposito seems favored over Moise Kean in a front three alongside Giacomo Raspadori and Nicolò Cambiaghi.
