Katie Taylor's Last Weigh-In Ahead of Croke Park Farewell

Katie Taylor has made weight. One last time.

On Saturday night in Dublin, the greatest female boxer of her era will walk to the ring at Croke Park, with an undefeated challenger in front of her, undisputed status on the line, and retirement waiting on the other side of the final bell. At 40, the future Hall of Famer is closing the book on a career that changed the sport, and she is doing it in the stadium she has dreamed about for years.

On Friday, the dream edged closer to reality.

Taylor and Pili locked in

Taylor came in at 139.6 pounds, Flora Pili at 139.9, both comfortably under the limit and both stone-faced as they shared a final, lingering stare on the stage. No drama on the scales. No missteps. Just a sense of something ending.

"I'm just so excited, to be honest," Taylor said, the emotion of the week finally spilling into words. "I've been saying all week how grateful I am for this opportunity. I just can't believe that I've been dreaming about this for the last few years and we're one day away from making this fight happen; one day away from ending my career in my dream venue, in Croke Park."

That’s the stage: a national icon, at home, with everything she has built in the sport distilled into one last night.

Pili, unbeaten and largely untested at this level, represents the final threat to Taylor’s undisputed reign. She didn’t need to say much at the faceoff. Her numbers on the scale and the way she held Taylor’s gaze suggested enough: she has come to spoil the farewell.

A card built for a send-off

The undercard mirrors the occasion’s sense of transition. Careers are being reshaped, others relaunched, all beneath the shadow of Taylor’s goodbye.

Former UFC fighter Molly McCann, now four fights into her professional boxing career, made 119.4 pounds ahead of her bout with Sylwia Doligala, who weighed in at 119.5. McCann went nose-to-nose with Doligala, leaning into the confrontation, a fighter clearly enjoying her second act in a new sport.

The main card on DAZN, starting at 2 p.m. ET, is set:

  • Katie Taylor (139.6) vs. Flora Pili (139.9)
  • Dave Allen (279.5) vs. Thomas Carty (256.2)
  • Paddy Donovan (146.3) vs. Tyrone McKenna (146.8)
  • Taylor Bevan (169.3) vs. Emmet Brennan (167.2)

Earlier in the day, the prelims, beginning at 11 a.m. ET, will run on MMA Fighting:

  • Molly McCann (119.4) vs. Sylwia Doligala (119.5)
  • Joe McGrail (121.9) vs. Matthew Boreland (121.7)
  • Bobbi Flood (155.3) vs. Jack Swallow (156.2)
  • Adam Olaniyan (257.5) vs. Matej Hudak (293)
  • Paul Ryan (161.1) vs. Paddy Gallagher (162.7)

The numbers are all in. The logistics are done. The weigh-in, usually a formality, carried an extra weight this time: it was the last official act of Katie Taylor’s fighting life before the walk.

Now there is only one thing left for her to do in Croke Park: fight her final fight.
