Huddersfield Town Captain Ryan Ledson Receives Three-Match Ban
Huddersfield Town captain Ryan Ledson has been handed a three-match ban by the Football Association after admitting a misconduct charge relating to abusive language towards a match official.
The incident stems from Huddersfield’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on 10 October, with Ledson alleged to have used abusive and/or insulting words in the tunnel area at half-time and again after the final whistle. He was not in the matchday squad that night, but the FA still moved to act once the referee’s report landed.
Ledson accepted the charge and has also been hit with a £7,000 fine, a significant sanction for a player who has been sidelined for over a month.
The 29-year-old midfielder, appointed captain in the summer, had started six League One games for the Terriers this season before an elbow injury halted his campaign on 12 September. His recent return to training had offered a timely boost to a Huddersfield side trying to build rhythm in the third tier.
That lift has now been checked. The suspension rules him out of upcoming fixtures against Wigan Athletic, Bradford City and Luton Town, denying manager and captain the chance to reconnect on the pitch just as Huddersfield look to steady their season.
