Derby Secures First Win of the Season with Salvesen's Strike

Derby’s season finally has a heartbeat.

After a winless opening that had tension creeping into the stands and questions circling around the squad, the Rams found their release against Portsmouth – and it came from the right boot of Lars-Jorgen Salvesen.

The striker’s decisive strike was exactly what a nervy afternoon demanded: clean, ruthless, and emphatic. Former Derby midfielder Darren Robinson, watching on, admired the way Salvesen attacked the chance rather than waiting for it.

“It was a quality finish in the way he came on to the ball and it was a confident finish,” Robinson said, summing up the moment that transformed the mood.
