Wrexham Focus on Recovery After Home Defeat to West Brom

Phil Parkinson, the manager of Wrexham, has called for resilience from his team following their 2-1 home loss against West Bromwich Albion in the Championship. Despite an early lead from Kieffer Moore's impressive 30-yard strike, two late goals from Isaac Price and substitute Aune Heggeb5b secured a comeback victory for Albion.

The defeat marked Wrexham's third loss of the season and prevented them from achieving back-to-back home wins for the first time since February.

Parkinson's Response and Outlook

Speaking ahead of their next match at the Racecourse Ground against bottom-placed Preston North End, Parkinson emphasized the need to regroup as a team. "When you lose a game at home, it's time to batten down the hatches and come out strong as a group," he said. "I'm sure we'll face criticism for the defeat, which is inevitable and we accept that fully. But there's a lot of resilience at the training ground and we're going to show it leading up to Preston."

He acknowledged the sting of losing in such a way: "The lads could feel it, the game was there for us. No one is going to feel sorry for us in football. We have to find solutions and identify where we can improve."

Moore's Impact and Management

Parkinson praised Kieffer Moore for his outstanding goal that gave Wrexham the lead midway through the second half. The Wales international, who scored his fourth goal of the season with this strike, was substituted shortly after because Parkinson wanted to protect the 34-year-old forward, especially after his full 90 minutes in the previous 1-1 draw at Derby County.

"Goals like that deserve to be part of a winning performance," Parkinson said. "He's had a really strong start to the season with a variety of goals and assists. We went with him again, but also we need to manage his fitness carefully."
