Paris FC Targets Jonathan David as Juventus Exit Approaches

David’s move to Turin from Lille OSC last summer, on a free transfer, was supposed to be the next step in a sharp upward trajectory. Instead, it has sagged. He has struggled to convince at Juventus, and Luciano Spalletti is now ready to move him on. The message from the club is clear: the door is open for him to leave.

That has alerted Paris FC, who know their forward line has been quietly stripped and reshaped over the past few months. Willem Geubbels was sold earlier in the summer. Lassine Sinayoko has come in to plug one gap, but another, far bigger hole suddenly opened.

Ciro Immobile’s surprise retirement stunned the dressing room. The veteran striker had been expected to go again for at least one more season. Instead, he stood in front of his teammates last month and announced that his career was coming to an immediate end. Plans drawn up around his presence evaporated in a single moment.
