Manchester United Set to Sign Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah

Manchester United are set to add serious pace and edge to their attack, having agreed terms to sign Sweden winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Häcken.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete her move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, a late-window push that underlines United’s intent to reshape the squad before the season settles into its rhythm.

This is no bargain-bin deal. Jusu Bah signed an extension with Häcken in September 2025 and is under contract until 2028, so United will pay a transfer fee, though the figure remains undisclosed. Tying down one of the most exciting wide players in Sweden never looked like a short-term move for Häcken; United have had to cut that plan short.

Her rise has been rooted in Swedish football. Jusu Bah came through at Umea, making her name with direct running and a willingness to attack defenders one-on-one, before earning a move to BK Häcken in 2023. The step up didn’t faze her. She grew into a key part of a side that has become a domestic force and a growing presence in Europe.

In May, she helped Häcken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, a landmark moment for the club and a clear sign that her game translates on the bigger stage. That kind of experience is exactly what United are paying for: a player who has already tasted European success and knows how to handle pressure nights.

Her international résumé is building quickly as well. Jusu Bah has made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, trusted consistently in a team that demands high standards in every position. For United, that means a winger already accustomed to tactical discipline and high-intensity football.

The move also fits a broader pattern. It is understood United want at least one more signing before the window closes next week, as they continue a targeted rebuild rather than a scattergun overhaul.

They have already brought in defender Andrea Medina from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City, strengthening the spine. Jusu Bah, with her pace and penetration from wide areas, adds a different dimension entirely.
