Leny Yoro Opens Up on Man Utd's Internal Talks and Adapting Before Atletico Madrid Clash

Manchester United defender Leny Yoro remains confident in the squad's ability to bounce back despite a tough start to the season. The French player spoke candidly about the team's recent internal meetings aimed at addressing their dip in form ahead of an important Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.

Inside the Dressing Room: Facing Reality Together

The mood around Old Trafford has grown tense as United prepare for their crucial trip to Spain. After drawing late with a 10-man Tottenham Hotspur, the club is enduring its worst start since 1986. Still, Yoro believes the players have the mental strength to turn things around.

"I have faith in the team and in us. I'm confident that in the upcoming matches we will improve and continue to move forward. I'm not particularly worried about this situation. All teams can go through difficulties at the start of a season. We are prepared to face them and keep working," Yoro told Marca.

He also revealed that honest and private talks have taken place behind closed doors, with the squad owning up to their current struggles and focusing on solutions.

"I think it's really important for a team. Sometimes you have to tell it like it is. And we have. We will continue to do so. We have to face reality and improve," Yoro added.

Adjusting to a New Defensive Role

Recently, Yoro has been shifted from his usual central defensive role to right-back, a change that can unsettle many young players. Yet, the 20-year-old has welcomed this challenge, showing maturity and adaptability that impresses the coaching staff.

"It's a position I can play. If I have to play there, I'm ready. I also like playing there. Of course, it has different aspects, but you have to adapt. I think you always have to be prepared. Whatever position on the field, I'm ready to play," Yoro explained.

Learning from Senior Defenders

Yoro praised senior teammates Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez for their guidance. Despite competing for starting spots, the veterans have helped him settle quickly into the club’s culture and sharpen his skills.

"They help me improve a lot every day, especially in training. I talk to them a lot and they help me grow. This is my third season here and I felt like a Manchester United player from day one. I'm very happy with how this season has started, but I know I can still improve. They also help me a lot in this process," he shared.

Prepared for Atletico's Challenge

Looking ahead to the match against Atletico Madrid, Yoro remains calm despite the expected hostile atmosphere. Known for their tough, passionate style under Diego Simeone, Atletico won't intimidate the young defender.

"Of course there's pressure, but it's not something that particularly affects me. I'm going to prepare for it exactly the same as any other match," Yoro concluded.
