Serge Gnabry Supports Harry Kane for Ballon d'Or Ahead of Bayern Munich vs Arsenal Clash

Serge Gnabry, winger for Bayern Munich, has expressed strong support for his teammate Harry Kane to win this year's Ballon d'Or. The endorsement comes just before their Champions League match against Arsenal, Kane's former club.

Remarkable Achievements Bolster Kane's Case

Kane's performance over the past season and current campaign makes a compelling case for the prestigious award. Last season, he scored an incredible 61 goals, helping Bayern secure the Bundesliga title and leading England to the World Cup semi-finals against Argentina. This season, he has maintained form with nine goals and six assists in 10 games, including three goals in two Champions League matches.

Gnabry Praises Kane's Impact and Mindset

Speaking to TNT Sports, Gnabry highlighted Kane's value and continuous improvement since joining Bayern. He said:

"He's shown it time and time again, how valuable he is. How much he has improved since coming here - an incredible player. Very deserving. I don't know who decides the markers on who deserves to win that trophy, but he has had an incredible year. He's still in great form, still scoring a lot of goals, so valuable to our team. I would wish it for him, he deserves that trophy."

Regarding playing alongside Kane, Gnabry added:

"He scores a lot of goals. The right mindset, he's always in the game, focused. In that sense, a calm through the storm, and sets the bar high."

Facing Former Club Arsenal

Gnabry will face Arsenal in the upcoming Champions League fixture, a club he left in 2016 after limited opportunities under Arsene Wenger. After moving through Werder Bremen and a loan to TSG Hoffenheim, he settled at Bayern Munich.

He also commented on Arsenal’s progress under manager Mikel Arteta, a former teammate from North London:

"It wasn’t an easy project. For him to last that long, to have that success, and make them champions again, is a very big achievement. Probably a bigger achievement than some achievements by bigger coaches. I've played for the club, so in some ways I'm happy for them, but of course, tomorrow, I’m playing for Bayern Munich. They’re my current club, and we need to win tomorrow."

Upcoming Events and Kane’s Future

The attention will soon turn to the Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday, October 26. Besides the award, Kane is expected to reveal his future plans at Bayern, where he is anticipated to sign a contract extension. His current deal runs until summer 2027.
