Bayern Munich have made their intentions unmistakably clear: Michael Olise is not just part of their future, he is the player they want to build it around.

According to French outlet L’Équipe, the German giants are preparing a new contract for the 24-year-old winger that would make him the highest-paid player at the club, even though his current deal already runs until 2029. That is not routine housekeeping. That is a statement.

From Crystal Palace talent to Bayern centrepiece

Olise only arrived from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024, but he has wasted no time in forcing his way to the heart of Bayern’s plans. At 24, he has become one of the standout performers in Munich, the kind of wide player who can tilt a game with a single touch or a sudden change of tempo.

Bayern have taken note. The club view the France international as a cornerstone of their long-term project, and they are ready to dig deep to keep him in Bavaria. The message to the rest of Europe is simple: hands off.

Olise has long been linked with dreams of Real Madrid. For now, those dreams are parked. L’Équipe report that he will stay in Germany for at least another season, with Bayern intent on locking him down on terms that reflect his new status.

Kompany connection and a perfect fit

Olise’s proposed new deal would lift him above that group. Above Kane, the England captain and marquee signing. Above Musiala, the homegrown jewel. Bayern do not hand out that kind of status lightly.
