Atlético Madrid Draws Line on Alvarez Transfer Amid Premier League Interest

Atlético Madrid have set a hard deadline of Friday for a resolution to the Julián Alvarez saga, drawing a thick red line through one destination while quietly leaving others wide open.

Chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil Marín has been emphatic on one point: Alvarez will “never, ever” be sold to Barcelona. The club’s board backed that stance in a strong statement, accusing Barça of failing to act in a “professional, ethical and respectful manner” and ruling out any negotiations with the Catalan side.

That shuts one door. It does not close the window.

Alvarez has now missed two consecutive training sessions and has been told there is a “zero per cent chance” he joins Barcelona, despite the player being said to favour that move. Chelsea ready to cash in on Enzo as Martínez deal agreed
