Sorba Thomas Escapes Injury After Car Overturns Near Training Ground
Hull City winger Sorba Thomas escaped without injury after his car overturned in a crash close to the club’s training ground on Friday morning.
The 27-year-old was involved in the incident on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham, a short distance from Hull’s base. Images from the scene showed a grey Land Rover Defender on its roof, windows smashed, lying across the road.
Despite the dramatic pictures, Thomas was able to walk away from the vehicle.
Humberside Police confirmed emergency services remained at the scene as investigations continued and urged the public to avoid the area while they worked.
Hull City moved quickly to reassure supporters. In a statement, the club said it was “relieved” to learn that Thomas, who only joined the Tigers from Championship side Stoke earlier this month, had not been hurt.
“The club is aware of images of Sorba's car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed,” the statement added.
A frightening morning for a new signing, but one that ends with the only result that matters: the player is safe and ready to resume his fresh start at Hull.
