Sheffield United Sign Jordan Ayew to Boost Attack

Sheffield United have moved to bolster their attacking options with the signing of seasoned Ghana forward Jordan Ayew on a deal until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old arrives at Bramall Lane as a free agent after leaving Leicester City in the summer, following the Foxes’ relegation to League One. His CV is heavy with top-level mileage: 124 caps for Ghana, more than a decade across the Premier League and Championship, and a career spent navigating pressure rather than dodging it.

Ayew first came to English football in 2015, swapping Lorient for Aston Villa, and has since become a familiar figure in the top two tiers with Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester City. Versatile, industrious and experienced, he has operated across the front line, from central striker to both flanks, often trusted to do the hard yards as much as the headline work.

"We're talking about someone here with bags of experience from right at the top level of the game," the Sheffield United manager told the club’s website. "Only a few months ago he was captaining Ghana in the World Cup, so he's someone with real pedigree.

"He did well at this level last season in difficult circumstances and has played all across the front positions during his career which gives us plenty of options."
