Ryan Ledson Receives Three-Match Ban and Fine

Huddersfield Town captain Ryan Ledson has been hit with a three-match ban and a £7,000 fine after admitting misconduct towards a match official.

The Football Association confirmed the punishment after Ledson was charged with using abusive and/or insulting language in the tunnel area both at half-time and after the final whistle of Huddersfield’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on 10 October.

He was not part of the matchday squad that night, but the incident around the officials’ area has now brought a heavy sanction for the 29-year-old midfielder, who accepted the charge.

Ledson has started six League One games for the Terriers this season, yet has not played since 12 September because of an elbow injury. He had only just returned to training and was edging towards a comeback.

That return is now on hold. Huddersfield will be without their captain for upcoming fixtures against Wigan Athletic, Bradford City and Luton Town, losing both a voice in the dressing room and an option in the heart of midfield at a time when every point matters.
