Barcelona's Renewed Interest in Julian Alvarez

Barcelona’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez, a story that seemed to die with the closing of the summer window, is quietly flickering back to life.

According to El Chiringuito TV, the camp of the Atletico Madrid striker believes the landscape at the Metropolitano could shift dramatically over the course of the season, to the point where Atletico themselves might end up placing Alvarez on the market – and even inviting Barcelona to the table.

For a club that spent August banging on a locked door, that would be quite a twist.

A transfer that never really went away

Inside Barcelona, Alvarez was not just one of several options. He was the option. The chosen No.9 to lead a new attacking era, the forward identified as the ideal profile to spearhead the team through the next cycle.
